The HSA has many volunteer positions that help make it successful. There are positions within the HSA Board, 5th grade volunteer positions, various event committees, as well as some additional positions.

Room Parent Coordinator
Manages and coordinates room parents for different classrooms. Acts as a liaison between teachers, parents, and the HSA to ensure that classroom events and activities run smoothly.

Spanish Language Communications / Translator
Critical role within HSA. Assist with translating important documents & flyers throughout the school year & being present for translation at HSA meetings.

Grade Level Volunteer Opportunities
5th Grade Committee
Committee of 5th Grade Parents to plan 5th grade picnic, moving up ceremony and other 5th grade activities.

Assist with production of the 5th grade yearbook.

After School Clubs
Teacher-led after school clubs are offered to the students for a fee. The committee organizes the offerings and is the coordinator for the teachers and parents. Clubs are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring and cover varied topics: sports, games, art, etc.

Teacher Appreciation Committee
Plan and set-up various events and teacher appreciation celebrations throughout the school year (typically during parent/teacher conference days, around the holidays, and during Teacher Appreciation Week in May).

Plan and run the holiday shop. Week of December 9th.

Family Movie Night (January)
Plan and run the family movie night. Scheduled for January 10th.

This committee is responsible for organizing International Night, a joint event with Hillcrest celebrating the cultural diversity of our community. Scheduled for February 20th.

Help organize and promote the book fair. Collect donated books and set up at the book fair. Support Literacy Night. Week of March 3rd.
